Shipping outside of Portugal? Read this first ✈️
If you are ordering from outside of Portugal, please note that your order may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, or local fees applied by your destination country’s authorities.
These charges are not included in our product prices or shipping costs — they are the responsibility of the recipient.
What are duties and taxes?
Import Duties: Taxes charged by your country’s customs on imported goods. The rate varies depending on the product category, value, and destination.
VAT / GST: Consumption taxes applied by your country on goods and services.
Customs Brokerage Fees: Some carriers (like DHL, FedEx, or UPS) use third-party brokers to process customs clearance, which may involve additional fees.
How are these charges calculated?
Each country calculates duties and taxes differently.
Amounts are usually based on:
- The declared value of your items
- The shipping cost (some countries include it in the calculation)
- The HS code (a customs classification number)
- The country of origin of the products
Because these factors vary, we are not able to provide an exact estimate of possible charges.
We recommend checking with your local customs office for detailed information before ordering.
How will I pay these charges?
Our shipments are sent Delivered at Place (DAP) — sometimes referred to as Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU).
This means that:
- Once your parcel arrives in your country, the carrier will contact you to collect any applicable customs duties or taxes.
- These must be paid before delivery.
- If you choose not to pay, the order may be returned to us, and return costs may be deducted from your refund.
Please note some countries may not allow your order to be returned for failure to pay tax & duty in which case, the refund will not be possible.
