The Jacarandá Family

JACARANDÁ, THE TREE WITH ORIGIN IN SOUTH AMERICAN THAT CONQUERED LISBON

Every spring, between the end of April and the beginning of June - depending on the weather conditions - the streets of the city of Lisbon are painted lilac and attract the attention of passers-by. And the people responsible for this phenomenon are the Jacarandas, an exotic species originating from regions with very different natural conditions, but which easily adapted to the Lisbon area.

These iconic trees arrived in the Portuguese capital at the beginning of the 19th century, by the hand of Félix de Avelar Brotero, director of the Ajuda Botanical Garden, because they were beautiful and different to anything else that existed in Portugal at the time. They quickly became a symbol of Lisbon, and are now part of the city's identity, announcing every year that summer will soon be here.

JACARANDÁ, A FAMILY THAT DOES NOT GO UNNOTICED

The Jacarandá is, for Benamôr, seen as a symbol of the Portuguese capital. Besides, it is a tree that is full of lilac flowers, therefore being the perfect choice for these recipes with a floral fragrance.

Just like the Jacarandas, the products in this range cannot go unnoticed. With a floral scent and a sweet touch, this was the fourth Benamôr family to arrive, complementing the others in terms of fragrance and skin benefits. Iris and other secret flowers form the oriental floral perfume of Jacarandá products, which is addictive to anyone. A soft, exquisite aroma, with a sweet touch, that lingers on the skin.

In addition to containing floral essence, which contributes to the calming power of the Jacarandá family, its products are enriched with aloe vera, a plant with countless benefits that also has a calming effect on the skin.

THE EPHEMERAL DIMENSION OF BEAUTY AND JACARANDÁ

The flowering Jacarandas are a unique and ephemeral phenomenon: they bloom with the arrival of warmer days, but their flowers only last a short time on the trees.

The ephemerality associated with the beauty of this tree can also be associated with human beauty, sometimes fragile and fleeting. The truth is that beauty, in the literal sense of the word - "perfection pleasing to the eye and captivating the spirit; quality of what is beautiful" - is something that does not last forever.

Using traditional production methods, our iconic Benamôr recipes have been handcrafted with love and care since 1925 to help care for your skin, leaving it beautiful, hydrated, nourished and revitalised. A real secret to maintaining beauty and making it last.
